Kidspace Museum
On Wednesday, we met up with Danny, Laura and girls in Pasadena. We went to the Kidspace Museum, which Robbie loved. It was nice to let the cousins play together.

Football Season
Conversationalist

Conversation #1:
M: Robbie, are you just too tired?
R: No, I'm only one tired.
Conversation #2:
(Background- we have wild rabbits come to our backyard at times.)
R: (looks out the window) They're not bringing eggs anymore.
M: Who?
R: Our bunnies.
M: They only bring them on Easter. That's a long time away.
R: Maybe after your birthday.
M: Actually, it's after Christmas time too.
R: (looks at clock) Hmmm...It's on the 8 and the 6.
M: That means it's 8:30.
R: I wonder if that's Christmas time. Hmmm...

Mormon Battalion Center
They just re-opened it after a remodel in Jan. They did such an amazing job with it. I was very impressed how interactive and informative it was. After the presentation they had an area where you could participate in some of the activities they would have done.
Robbie played a fiddle.
made some bricks
washed laundry
and panned for gold.
I looked through the list of members in the battalion at the end and saw that one of my ancestors was part of it. His name was Jesse Bigler Martin. He was actually at Sutter's Fort when they first discovered gold. He and his cousin Henry Bigler were a few of the men to pool their money and buy one or two cannons for the fort. This is one of the cannons that he helped purchase.

San Diego Zoo
There were quite a few animals that were active for us. The polar bear was playing with his ball.

These crocodiles were getting fed. I was amazed at how their trainer handled them.

Robbie Starts School
This first day, we made an "H" collage from letters we found in a magazine,
practiced writing "H",
read "The 3 Little Pigs", constructed the 3 homes from similar materials,
and talked about D&C 88:119 (Establishing a house of order, a house of prayer...a house of God). We talked about how if we want to build a strong home that we have to build it with strong materials like the 3rd little pig, which for us is prayer, fasting, order...etc. He loves it so far and it's been fun for me to get back into the mode of teaching again.
