Celebration

Robbie's birthday fell on a Thursday this year, which is the day our play group meets each week. We decided to bring cupcakes and a bubbles activity for his friends to celebrate.

on our way in the car
eating his cupcake
with friends Brody, Gavin, and Daphne...we had all the moms trying to get the kids to look at the camera the same time...this is the best we got :-)
That night Robbie requested tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner.
Then we opened gifts...
I made a small cake out of the left over batter from the cupcakes. He couldn't wait to blow out the candles. I barely sat the cake down when he started blowing.
Me and my boyHappy Birthday, Robbie! You're a keeper.

Birthday Boy

Robbie turned 4 years old this week! We are so proud of the boy he's become. He is kind, obedient, and a sweet spirit in our home.

Some things about him right now:
*He loves to learn- he likes to read, spell, and write. He self-initiates all of these activities daily.
*He loves to run. He's known as "the runner" at play group. He will race anyone or run laps for fun.
*He loves games: tic tac toe, board games, video games...he's always trying to get us to play.
*He loves Primary. He gets so excited when Sunday comes around. He loves singing and being part of the "big class".
*His newest love is his sister. He adores her and her every move. He is the biggest helper.

We love that he came to our family. We love you, Robbie!

Festivities Begin

Robbie's birthday is this week. We started off by taking him to Chuck E. Cheese yesterday for lunch. It was nice during the week. There were hardly any people there, so he could spend some time doing all the games and rides he loved!

First Day at Church

We took Lydia to church for the first time on Sunday. She did really well... slept most of the time. Here's the kids all dressed up.
Here's Robbie singing to Lydia. Whenever she cries, he rushes over and tries to calm her with a song. It's so cute!

Another Photo Shoot

We went to Schabarum Regional Park for a little photo shoot on Friday. Here's the best of what we got.

2-Week Check Up

We took Lydia in for her 2-week check up this week. She's doing great!
Weight: 8 lbs. 11 oz. (50%)
Height: 20.5 in. (50%)
She's grown a lot even though it's only been 2 weeks! I guess that means she's eating well.

Bath Time Helper

Lydia changes her mind as to whether she likes baths or not. Some days she screams the whole time and others she seems so relaxed and content.

One thing's for sure though...Robbie loves to help! He gets to wash her legs and feet and he takes his responsibility pretty seriously. He's such a great helper.

Tummy Time

Lydia's neck is getting stronger these days. She's been pretty good at lifting her head from the beginning, but she's holding it longer now.

A Little Photo Shoot

The other day I decided to take the little kiddies to our backyard for a little photo shoot.
Our first sweetheart wasn't in the mood to take too many pictures since the bubbles were waiting for him. This is really the only decent one...ha ha. I'll have to take him out again this week to get some 4-year-old shots, without the bubbles ;-)
And here's a few of our newest sweetheart

Our Week

This week my mom has been here to help with Lydia and Robbie.
It's been so nice to have her around. Robbie has loved the extra attention and I have loved the company and help around the house. It was especially fun to have her on Mother's Day. I haven't had a Mother's Day with her in quite a few years.
One night while she was here, Brian and I went on our anniversary date. We've been married 6 years now! Here's a picture of our new little family. Thanks for coming, Mom! We love you!

Father/Son Campout

This coming weekend is the Father/Son Camp Out for our Stake. Robbie came home from Primary so excited to go with his Daddy-with no girls! Brian knew this weekend would be a busy one for him at work, however, so they improvised and had their own camp out in our living room. They built a fort out of our sheets, played games, watched a movie, and had a blast together. The next morning, Brian took Robbie to lunch and to play miniature golf. They had so much fun together and I think Robbie appreciated the one-on-one time with Daddy.
