Robbie the Reader

Robbie has always had a love of reading. He loves to read books and be read to. His friend gave him Charlotte's Web for Valentine's Day, and we have been reading it. He likes to sit right by me and follow along. Lately he has become better in his reading skills.

This morning he pulled out the Children's Songbook and started reading the songs.

Our Little Daredevil

Lydi has amazed us lately with her abilities and courage. This is new for us as Robbie has always been a cautious boy. However, our little girl is fearless and daring in her pursuits;) She has started walking along furniture, and while standing, only uses one hand for balance. It's only a matter of time before she decides to take a step on her own!

She loves to climb and is quite proud of herself when she has reached a new height.

Also, while shopping yesterday, Lydi had herself turned around and standing in the basket! All within a matter of seconds AND with her seat belt still on. I can't take my eyes off this one;)I can't wait to see what new adventures this little one has in store for us!

9 Months

Wow...9 months!

Here's some new things going on with Lydi:

• She's teething which means chewing on everything.
• She's started to eat her first solid food- Gerber puffs. They melt in her mouth.
• She loves to pull up and stand next to anything she can grab on to.
• She loves when Robbie sits on the floor behind her and scoots her around.
• Her favorite game is peek-a-boo.
• She loves to discover new things and will sit and observe things for a while (including people).
• She has an excited screech that she lets out whenever she hears the back blinds being opened--she loves to look out the sliding glass door.
• She is strong willed.

We love everything about her!

Catching Up

Well, it's been quite a month for me. For those who don't know, I had back surgery 3 weeks ago. It was hard for me to wrap my head around it, and so I didn't tell many people. I'm glad I went through with it though. I'm doing well and healing fast thanks to my mom and Brian's mom who have spent countless days/weeks here helping me with kids. It's been such a blessing to have them here!

As a result I don't have a ton of photos, but here's a few I did get. We've been blessed with wonderful weather and have loved our time outside.
Robbie loves playing basketball in our backyard and at the park. He tells us which teams are playing (BYU is always one of them) and then precedes to play both sides. It's always exciting to see BYU win each game ;)

Lydi is getting faster at crawling and loves to sit at the back door and look out for brother.
Heavenly Father has sent us some amazing sunsets lately. One night it looked like the sky was on fire. Here's one through the trees in our backyard.

One day we found that Ronald McDonald was going to be at one of our local McD's and so we went to see him. There were so many people there we didn't get a chance to meet him personally, but we saw him!Thanks for all the support from our family and friends, especially our Moms!
