Disneyland

Since we still had 2 more days of vacation time, we decided to head to the "Happiest Place on Earth."  Robbie's been wanting to go check out the new Cars Land, and Lydi's favorite character right now is Mickey Mouse!

It was a great ending to a great vacation!

Unexpected Changes

Sunday night we stayed in Salida just north of Modesto.  We were headed to Yosemite the next morning.  When we got out to our car we found a change in plans.

Our car was broken into that night! A few things were taken, but we are all safe.  We are grateful for that.  Since it was Memorial Day, we couldn't find a shop open to fix it.  Instead of trying to find a way to secure the car overnight, we decided to cut the trip short and come home.  We will do Yosemite another trip.

It started to rain of course! We headed to Walmart for a shower liner, string, and duct tape.  We drove home in style.

Oakland Temple

Crossing the Bay Bridge into Oakland

We visited the Oakland Temple on Sunday.  It was so beautiful!  It sits on the side of a mountain and overlooks the entire bay.

They recently redid the visitor center and added a Christus.

Golden Gate Bridge

We had to see the Golden Gate Bridge while we were in San Fransisco.  It was so foggy when we got there, but as we walked along it started to clear up.  We walked to the half way point and back.  The whole bridge is 1.7 miles total.

At the half way point, we heard a barge blow his horn right under us.  We could barely see it!

Koret Children's Park- San Francisco

We found this fun children's park in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.  The kids loved it!  They built these concrete slides into the side of a hill.  There is a pile of cardboard boxes at the bottom to slide down on.   The kids played on this slide for most of the time.

This climbing structure was pretty cool too.

Lydi loved spinning in this bowl.

Birthday Boy

Robbie turned 6 on Sunday!  We celebrated earlier since we knew we would be gone.  However, we brought a few small things for him to open on the trip.

So happy to have him in our family!

Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium

Saturday morning we walked down Cannery Row to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Cannery Row inspired John Steinbeck's novel.

The aquarium was so fun for the kids.  Both loved watching the animals and learning about them.
