7 Years

Robbie turned 7 today!  We've been celebrating all weekend though.
 Opening presents

For his birthday cake, he wanted a chocolate cake with a drizzly frosting.  We added a few party animals to the top too.

This morning we took him to Heritage Park for his 7 year-old pictures and to play.  We saw these cute baby ducks with their mama.
It was fun to show Dad our new favorite park.  He liked it too!

Here's his pics:
Stats:
weight: 66 lbs. (93%)
height: 54 in.  (97%)

He grew 4 in. and 10 lbs. this year!  We love having him in our family.  He makes this best big brother!  Happy Birthday, Robbie!

End of First Grade

Robbie has officially graduated from 1st grade!  This week the whole first grade took a field trip to the local park to play and have a picnic lunch.  We met them there and had a great time.  Robbie's friend came and sat by me at one point.  He moved in about half way through the year.  He told me, "I'm so glad that I moved here.  Robbie is so nice to me!"  That made my day!  I'm so glad he makes others feel good.

Here's Robbie on the last day of school.  Since his birthday was only a few days away, they celebrated that day.  Robbie took giant Pixy Stix as a birthday treat.
His teacher told me that she's been teaching for over 15 years now and you don't get a Robbie every year.  "He's so good and thoughtful, and wants all the kids to feel good.  You don't find boys like that very often."  We are so proud of him!

3 Years

Lydi had her 3-year-old check up this week.  She did great!  She wasn't too excited about it, but afterwards was pretty proud of herself for getting through it.

Height: 37.5 in. (50%)
Weight: 34 lbs. (70%)

Here's more of her 3-year-old photo shoot.

About her right now:
  • She loves to tell a good "knock knock" joke (that's how I got her laughing in her pics).
  • She wakes up super early in hopes of helping Dad get ready in the morning. She gets out his socks, picks out his shirt, shaves him, and brushes his teeth.
  • She makes her bed and gets dressed by herself.
  • She loves to play "mommy" to her most favorite baby doll.  She will be a great help with the new baby.
  • She potty trained this year.  She started out stubborn, but when she decided she wanted it, it happened pretty fast.
  • She loves Doc McStuffin and gives us all regular check-ups.
  • She still takes a solid 2-3 hour nap every day.
  • She is a chocoholic.  If it's chocolate, she will ravenously eat it and ask for more with her cheeks full.
  • She's a cuddler.
We love having her in our family!

AR Award

Robbie got his gold AR Award (for reading) this week at school. He has really grown in his reading this year.  His teacher pulled me aside after school to tell me that she had the results for his end-of-year reading assessment.  He's reading on a fourth grade level now!  He has started reading the Magic Tree House series on his own and has read 5 of the books in the past week.  We love our little reader!

Feild Trip

I went with Robbie's class on their field trip to the California Science Center on Wednesday.
We saw the Endeavor.

We also saw a 3D movie about the lemurs in Madagascar.

At the end we had a little bit of time to see the Kelp Forest.

On the bus ride
It was fun to be with him for school!

9 Years

We celebrated our 9th anniversary this week!  The years have been great, and I can't wait to celebrate many more to come. We celebrated by going to Sequoia last week.  Brian got me these beautiful flowers, too.

Thomas

We have decided to name our newest baby boy Thomas Michael.  I went in for my 35 week appointment today.  I had an ultrasound appointment right after.  Here's the front of his face with the top of his head on the right.  He was sleeping, so you can see his eyes closed, pouty lips and chunky cheeks.  We are so excited to meet him!  From the measurements the technician guessed he weighed about 6 lbs. 10 oz. already.  He might be my biggest baby! He's head down and I'm dilated to 1.5 cm.  5 more weeks, little man!

Birthday Girl

Lydia turned 3 on Saturday!  Since the boys were camping, I took her to Heritage Park to play and get her 3-year-old pictures.  I'll post more later, but here's a few.

She loves her nails painted and making funny faces is a new specialty.

She loves going down slides!

After the boys got home, we gave Lydi her water table!  She loved it and I hope it will bring hours of entertainment this summer.

We took her to Olive Garden for her birthday dinner and then came home to eat birthday cake.  She chose a banana cake with caramel frosting this year.

Daddy let her choose a ride at the mall.
Happy Birthday, Lydia!  Thanks to all those who sent birthday wishes her way!

Father & Son Campout

The Father & Son Campout for our stake was this weekend.  Brian was in charge of the whole thing!  They got up there early to post signs to the campsite and get everything organized.

They had alot of fun.  The next morning they cooked breakfast with the Stake YM presidency, went on a scavenger hunt, played tug of war, went on a few hikes, and threw around a football.  Fun to have some guy time!
