Meet the Monsters

In honor of Halloween coming up, we made felt monsters.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and added to it with a few of our own designs.  The kids loved mix-and-matching the parts and naming each one.  From left to right: Professor Thomas, Spikey, Gooey (Ghazt from My Singing Monsters), and Striker.

Comparison

 Robbie- 4 months

Lydi-5 months

Thomas- 4 months

I think they all look pretty similar.  They each have their uniqueness, but there are many times that I have flashbacks from Thomas to each of the other kids.

Roll Over

Thomas rolled from his back to his front this week.

He does it all the time and can move some pretty big distances with just his rolling moves.

Also, he loves to chew on his finger.  It's almost always in his mouth.

Cereal

Thomas tried rice cereal this week. He liked it!  He only spit out a little bit.  The doctor suggested we start him on some cereal at night to get him to sleep longer.  So far it hasn't worked.  This kid just loves to eat...24 hrs a day!

Gymnastics

This week in gymnastics....

Lydi mastered the front roll!

Robbie did a few new tricks on the bar!

4 Months

Where has the time gone?  He's growing so big, and we are loving every minute.

Stats:
height: 27 in. (98%)
weight: 17 lbs. 14 oz. (90%)

  • He's probably my happiest baby.  Even when he's hungry or upset by something you can still get a smile out of him. We visited a lactation consultant and he needed to be hungry when we got there.  Even though he was starving, he still smiled at all the nurses we passed.
  • He loves songs and rhymes.
  • He's a cuddler.  Gotta admit...I really love that.
  • He found his toes a few days ago.
  • He can grasp well and brings everything he holds to his mouth.
  • He rolls from side to side and front to back but still can't quite get from back to front.
  • He loves attention from his siblings.  We picked Robbie up from school one day and Thomas followed him around he room with his eyes for about 15 mins.  He watched everything that Robbie was doing.
  • We've struggled a little with feeding this month.  He's getting enough to eat, but we've had thrush and it's been a beast. I'm actually looking into whether it could be something else at this point. Still working on it...
  • He wears size 3 diapers and 6-12 month clothes.
  • He's had a clogged tear duct in his left eye that we keep massaging...and massaging..and massaging.
  • His favorite toy is probably his Sophie giraffe.  Such a good chew toy.
  • He has an easy going personality.

General Conference

General Conference was awesome as usual!  We recorded the sessions on Saturday and had a super 4-session marathon on Sunday!

a new tradition from the past couple of years....homemade maple bars.
Thomas trying out his exersaucer for the first time.

He loves to sleep in his swing.

The kids playing legos while listening.

We had a lot of favorite talks. Brian loved the talk by Elder D. Todd Christofferson about justice and mercy.  Robbie love the talk about learning to hear the right voices by Elder Eduardo Gavarett.  Lydi would pick up on certain words she recognized and say, "Hey, they just said 'scriptures' (or temple or FHE)!"  She also loved hearing I Am a Child of God from the choir.   Elder Holland's about helping each other and Elder Lynn G. Robbins' about which way we face are a few of the ones that stood out to me.  We love listening to the modern prophets of our day.  What a blessing!  You can hear them all here.

Jim Shore

Jim Shore came back on Knott's Berry Farm for another signing this year.  I collect his figurines and Brian wanted to get me something new for my birthday.
waiting in line....

all of us with Jim Shore

I added to my nativity set that he signed last year.  The shepherd with the sheep around his neck and the cow are new.  (Brian might have gotten me another nativity piece for Christmas too.)

They had a drawing and Brian won this Halloween Tinkerbell, too!  She flies around the pumpkin when you turn her on.

the beautiful sunflowers from my birthday:)

Gymnastics

Here's a few pics from this week's gymnastics.
Lydi doing her leap frogs across the mat.

Jumping on the springboard

 Robbie jumping off the vault

Robbie did a flip on the bar for the first time.  This sport has challenged his cautious personality and we are proud of him!
