Our Week

The warmer weather means that kids are out playing!  After dinner, we generally go for a bike ride and play at our park for a few hours.  This week, we had 5 families with 13 kids join us!! The kids love it.

Basketball is still apart of our lives.  Here are the boys playing.

Brian got the new NBA Live 16 video game.  You can upload your own picture to create yourself as a player.  Here's Robbie.  He was drafted to the Denver Nuggets team.

Lydia registered for Kindergarten on Friday.  She is so excited to go!

On Saturday, our church had a Just Serve "Day of Service".  We signed up to tie fleece blankets for a women's shelter and the kids colored pictures for military servicemen. It was fun to serve as a family.

Bike Rides

We've been riding our bikes a lot more this week.  It's been fun to go for a ride after dinner in the evenings.

Yard

Our front yard has been steadily dying for over a year now.  This week we finally updated it!
before

We wanted more color so we added rose bushes and other flowers.  We still need to add our hibiscus and then it will be done.

Lake Elsinore Storm

We went to Bobby's birthday party on Saturday.  They invited us out to a Lake Elsinore Storm game with tailgating before.   Here we are at the tail gate party.

Our Week

Lydi and Thomas are getting braver at the playground.  Lydi hangs upside down.

Thomas can climb the "mountain" to the slide now instead of taking the stairs.

Robbie buried himself in the pile of pillows and the other two thought it looked like a great place to jump.

Thomas is really into music.  He loves to sing along with the hymns in church and the radio.  There is a version of Adele's Hello song by Walk Off the Earth that we watch on You Tube occasionally.  Here is Thomas watching/singing along.

Thomas

Well, when I went back to look at the photos Brian and I took this week, they were all of Thomas! It must be his turn for a special post.  Thomas has his "jobs" around the house (i.e. put his shoes away, help set napkins/cups/or spoons for meals, clean up his toys, etc). One of his favorite jobs is to unload the cereal after the grocery store.  He knows right where they go and puts them away so nicely each week.

Brian watched Thomas play this ring toss game.  Thomas loves to throw just about anything to make a goal/basket, so ring toss was fun for him to try.

OIT

Robbie had his first food challenge this week!!  He challenged pine nuts.  From his assessments, the doctor knew he would not have a problem eating them. He was showing no signs of an allergy.
They hooked him up to a machine to monitor his vitals during the challenge.

Before the doctor came in, Robbie had fun seeing how he could change the numbers with his breathing-ha ha.

Robbie ate 20 g of pine nuts in about 15 min-- approx. 40 nuts.
He showed no reaction at all!  We have another appointment at the end of April to challenge almonds and begin dosing on pecans.  He has tested for no allergy reaction with almonds, so he should be able to eat a large amount just like the pine nuts.  He has shown a possible allergy reaction to pecans, so we will begin a small dose regimen each day after that appointment.  He will hopefully challenge pecans at the end of May.

Gawbie & Grandpa

While Gawbie and Grandpa were here, we did many things.  On Monday, Robbie went with them to visit Grandma Ginos' grave site in San Diego.  They also met up with Great Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler, and Aunt Joy and Uncle Max.

Robbie noticed that he has the same birthday as his Great Grandpa Stobbs!

On Tuesday, we went on the hike to the redwoods with Gawbie and Grandpa.

On Wednesday we went to Knott's Berry Farm.

The new 4-D ride

Most of us....Brian was camera man.
We also celebrated Gawbie's birthday that night at Islands.

On Thursday, we watched Lydi at her gymnastics class. It was the first time she was able to flip under the bar and over.  She just needs to get upright--she was soooo tired from trying to get over.
We loved having Gawbie and Grandpa here with us!  Thanks for visiting!

Our Week

On Tuesday afternoon we watched the BYU basketball game.  We were all on the edge of our seats.  Robbie's reaction to them losing is how we all felt.

At Cub Scouts on Tuesday night, Robbie constructed a self-powered car with a balloon, straw, skewers, tape, spools and a small box. It worked the best on a hard surface.

The older two kids and I went to the dentist on Saturday morning.  Lydi had her kindergarten evaluation. Here she is getting ready for her x-rays.  She was really good about them!
