Summer

The kids got out the binoculars this week and did some bird watching in our backyard.

We went to Soak City with one of Robbie's friends from school.

Lydi started swim lessons.

Our days have been hot, fun, and busy.

Father's Day

For Father's Day, we made Brian his favorite breakfast burritos in the morning.  After church we had the elder missionaries over for a BBQ pulled pork dinner.  We also got to talk with each of our own fathers.

On Saturday we took Brian to Shakey's for pizza, too.  Thomas fell asleep on my arm in the middle of eating.  He's looking a lot like his sister.
We are grateful for Brian and the hard work he puts in for our family.  He's a great father and his kids adore him!  We are also grateful for our amazing fathers who still support and love us.

Our Week

Our library had a professional cartoonist teach a drawing class on Mo Wilhems illustrations.  Mo Wilhems was Robbie's favorite author in kindergarten and he really wanted to go.  The kids did really good!

The cartoonist even shared one of Lydi's drawings with the class. (sorry the drawings didn't come out very clear in the pics)

We had a play date with some friends in the ward.  They will be moving to Florida at the end of the month. We will miss them.

I finished the boy's matching twin quilts this week.  We knew we were going to get a bunk bed for the boys when Thomas was ready to get out of the crib.  I'm still not quite ready for him to be out of the crib, but his bed is waiting for him.  Maybe soon.

Robbie started piano lessons this week too.  We found a great lady in our stake to teach him.  So far he's excited about practicing and I think it will be a good experience.

Lydi has become our official tortilla maker.  She's really good at watching them and cooking them perfectly.

Our Week

This week our niece, Breanna, graduated from high school!  We went out to Bobby's a little early to swim in his new pool and hang out with Grandpa.

We are so proud of Breanna.  She will be attending college in New York in the fall.

After the graduation, Grandpa came home with us.  He and Robbie were working together to reinforce our cupboard door.

On Saturday, I got to take a sewing class for my new machine that I got back in January.  It was really fun and I learned little tips and tricks that my new machine can do.  I'm excited to try them out.

On Sunday we all went to our backyard to play some basketball.  Lydi and Thomas were the cheering section.  We played Lightning, Around the World, and had a Slam Dunk Contest.

Birthday Boy

Our Thomas boy turned 2 on Sunday!  He's such a fun, loving, smiley kid to have in our family. He gets a lot of comments about his curly locks.
 height: 35 inches (75%)
weight: 30 lbs. (75%)
He's grown 2 inches and 4 lbs. this year.

He says about 40 words and is very expressive when talking.  He loves to read books with his favorite being Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle.

He loves funny faces- this is his classic, go-to face.

He also loves basketball like his brother.  He's very physical-loves to tackle, cuddle and tickle.
He is very friendly- will wave to anyone who will wave back.  He enjoys going to scouts with Robbie and knows how to do the scout sign.

We took him to Souplantion on Saturday.  He loves the mac n cheese, muffins, and jello there.

He was such a mess when it was time to go.

For breakfast on his birthday we had blueberry pancakes.  He also learned how to cross his eyes while we ate. I looked over to see if he needed more food and he was very seriously figuring it out.  I just about died laughing.

Getting ready in his suit for church with Daddy.

Happy Birthday, dear boy!

OIT

Another successful food challenge! Robbie conquered pecans on Friday.  The doctor brought in chocolate for him to eat between doses, which he loved.  After the challenge, the nurse takes him to this hallway to run for 5 minutes.  This gets his blood pumping and would induce a reaction.  If he doesn't have one here then he won't have one at home.  He now eats 20 pine nuts, 8 almonds, and 4 pecans each day.

The doctor gave Robbie orders to buy some butter pecan ice cream before he comes back to see him.  We got some this weekend and Robbie loves it.  It's a nice way to get his daily dose! We also made these chocolate clusters today.

Our Week

We went to Knotts as a family.  Lydi rode the Sidewinder for the first time and loved it!

She and I also rode the superman one together.

Robbie tried a plain lemon one day to see if he could handle the sour.

 It was pretty funny.

Brian found Lydi sleeping like this one night.  Light on, turned around, up on her knees and elbows...
