Our Week

Thomas fell asleep at dinner.  Later we went to Scouts, and he slept through the whole thing.  He woke up as we came home to go to bed.  Still fell asleep easy though.

At Scouts, we had a police officer from our ward talk to the boys about some of the things he does.  He brought some handcuffs and Robbie got to arrest another boy.

Thursday was Hat Day at school.

On Friday, Lydi had her first field trip to the Buena Park Library.  Thomas and I met them there for the tour.

The librarian also read them a few books.

On Saturday morning, we split up for boy time and girl time for breakfast.  Lydi and I went to Black Bear Diner.  She was so excited to color a whole page with me.

She chose her favorite chocolate chip pancakes.

Later on Saturday, we had a Primary Program practice and party.  Brian is always my behind the scenes helper for this.  He sets up, picks up the pizza, and takes down.  This year Thomas helped him.  He was able to take a break for a moment and get a slurpee with Thomas for helping out.

Python

We went to a birthday party on Saturday.  They had a reptile show for the kids.  There were quite a few animals- some big, some small.
This Burmese Python was the biggest.  All of our kids had to touch it.

Crazy, they're all crazy...

OIT

Robbie had another successful food challenge-cashews.  He's been eating 1 cashew/day for the last month to prepare for it.  He ate all the nuts pretty quick this time because he liked the taste of them!  They reduced his daily nut intake from 44 nuts/day to about 14 nuts/day.  This month he is also taking a small dose (1/2 tsp.) of pistachio everyday to prepare for the pistachio challenge next month. This means he is now tree nut "bite-proof"!  We don't have to worry about labels that say "made in the same facility as tree nuts"!
He will also start to a small dose of peanut at his next appointment!  We are all excited and nervous at the same time.  Doctor thinks he will be peanut "bite-proof" by the beginning of November.  It's going to be a big milestone.  We will be saving Halloween candy that he's never been able to eat before (Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, regular M&Ms, etc).  He will work on peanut for 3 months before he can "graduate" the program.  Before we start the peanut though, the doctor needed to do Robbie's blood work again.
So Saturday morning he went into the lab to have 9 vials of blood drawn.  They had to use both arms.  This always makes him queasy and clammy, but he made it through!  He's such a trooper and we are so excited for the progress he's made!

Weekend Fun

On Saturday we went to Knott's Berry Farm in the morning.

Thomas's first time on Huff 'n Puff.  He loved it!

On Saturday evening, Bobby, Jesi and Breanna stopped by for dinner before flying her to NY for college.  We had a nice visit, but I didn't get any pictures.

On Monday morning we had plans to go bowling, but when we found out the bowling alley was closed for Labor Day we were totally bummed.  We've been wanting to go to Universal Studios to check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a while, so we decided to do that instead.

in Hogsmeade

Our first stop was Olivander's Wand Shop to buy a Harry Potter wand.  The wand was interactive, so the kids could do magic spells at different spots around the park.

It's a little hard to see but the owl in the middle of this picture is Draco Malfoy's in Harry Potter.

A jazz singer was doing a street performance on the balcony.  Thomas and I stopped to watch her and she was singing right to him:)

It was a great weekend!
