Spring Break

We started off our Spring Break by heading to a local park with a storybook zoo.  I kept telling the kids that they had small farm animals.  On our way Lydi was asking Thomas if he wanted to see if they had bunnies.  He says, "No bunnies! A shark!  Me a see a shark!"  Well, we didn't see a shark, but he was still fascinated by the animals.

The mini-donkey behind the kids was born the day after Thomas!

They also had pigs, ponies, chickens, turtles, turkeys, bunnies, goats, alpacas, ducks, geese, snakes, and lizards.
It was a fun place to get out of the house and visit.

Our Week

Lydia got another "Paws for Praise" at school for her perseverance in reading.   Since passing off her first grade words, she has started AR testing.  She brings a book home each night to read and then takes a test on it the next day.  She is almost to her goal, and we are so proud of her!

Me at 39 weeks.  Thomas fell asleep on our way to piano lessons, so I carried him in and held him during the lesson.  Not sure how I can do that once the new baby comes....life is going to get interesting!

Basketball Banquet

Lydia and Robbie both had their basketball banquets on the same night.  It includes a pot luck dinner and an award ceremony.  Brian and I decided to divide and conquer instead of having the whole family be at both.  I took Lydia to her banquet.
Lydi with her team.

She was so excited to have her first trophy!

Brian took Robbie to his banquet.  In Robbie's division they also give a Sportsmanship award to 2 members of each team.  Robbie received one for his team!

Getting his trophy with his team
I saw both kids grow in confidence and skill this year!

Basketball

Robbie and Lydi had their last basketball games this week.  I've seen so much growth this year and it was a lot of fun watching them play.

Thomas is a favorite fan of both of them.  He will cheer them from the stands even when they aren't playing in the game!

Robbie's league had a tournament this year.  They didn't make it to the end like he would have liked, but the boys tried their best and had an end of season 4 wins -3 loss record.

AR Awards/ High Honor Roll

A few weeks ago Robbie received his AR award for the 2nd trimester.

He also made High Honor Roll again.  We are so proud of his accomplishments!
Lydia finished memorizing the first 100 first grade words and has started AR testing on books too.  She is working toward her AR award for the end of year assembly.  She has worked so very hard for this!
