Our Summer Weeks

We continue to have fun this summer.

We took another trip to Knott's so the guys to could try out the new Hang Time.  They made it!

Our ward had a picnic in the park one evening, and we were the lucky ones to go early to reserve the spot.  The time went by faster than I thought it would and the kids had fun.

One night while we were at the park, I heard a noise and looked down the street.  We had raccoons visit us!  One was crying and going in and out of the drains.  Another was walking along the homes and checking the front doors.  I called animal control, but they don't deal with wildlife, so we just stayed clear of them and went home when they were down the street a little ways.

We went cosmic bowling on Saturday.  It was fun!

Summer Fun

Summer is in full swing here!  We've been to Knott's Soak City.

Played at the park.  Catherine can go down the slide all by herself now!

Robbie has enjoyed Boy Scouts.

We had the Kaerichers (friends from Brian's last firm) over for dinner one night.  Lydi was so excited to feed their baby.

We went bowling.  We signed up for a free kids bowling program and the kids can bowl 2 games for free each day.

Lydi and Robbie are in swim lessons.

We also went to our nephew's 1st birthday party.
It's been a fun-filled summer so far!

Cooking Class

Lydi and I went to our first cooking class a the Discovery Cube. Lydi found they have them for kids and couldn't wait to go.  She wants to be a chef one day.

We made Red, White, and Blue Salsa (strawberries, blueberries, and jicama) with homemade tortilla chips.

She did and amazing job and it was so fun to have this one-on-one time with her.  We want to make it a monthly tradition.

Yum!

July 4th

On Independence Day, our ward had a Pancake Breakfast. The Boy Scouts performed the flag ceremony.

After we had a bike/scooter parade.

Catherine rode her friend's bike.

Then we headed over the Knott's Berry Farm.

We have visited the Independence Hall replica at Knott's for the past few years on July 4th.  They have an audio reenactment of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  It's a great reminder to us.

We all got to sign the Declaration of Independence with a feather pen too.

We met Benjamin Franklin and Abigail Adams.
Later we went swimming with our friends, The Martins, and the kids crashed before we could see any fireworks.  It was a good long day.
