Christmas Activities

We made sugar cookies this week to pass out to a few people and have friends over to help decorate.  When we were making the dough, I had to leave for a few minutes.  When I came back Thomas showed me that he "rolled out the cookies flat for you!  I just love to help  you out!"

On Friday night I took the kids to the Fullerton Arboretum.  They have a Lumanaria where you can walk through the gardens along lit pathways.  It was so fun to be there.

We also took a tour of the old doctor's house in the middle of the gardens.  He was the first doctor in the area and the home was decorated in an old Victorian Christmas style.  It was beautiful.

They had Santa at the end of the trail.

At our ward Christmas party we also met Santa and Ms. Claus.  Catherine was so excited to see them!  She was asleep the night before at the arboretum.

On Sunday we decorated gingerbread houses while we watched Forgotten Carols.

Activity Days

In our ward, Lydia is the only girl her age.  The girls who are already eight and attend Activity Days are so sweet to her.  Since they had a few singing performances this month they invited Lydia to join them.  They sang for the widows at a Christmas brunch they had.

Then for their Christmas party they went caroling to the widowers.  This man is 95 years old and always has his harmonica ready in his pocket.  He played Silent Night for them to sing along.

Then they went back the the church for some games.  Lydia was the Christmas tree they had to decorate.

They also decorated cookies.
Lydia is so excited that she can officially join Activity Days next month!

Recent Happenings

I took the kids to Dotson Park on the first weekend of December.

Lydia was trying to make the craziest faces as she spun around.

Catherine also liked to ride.

Thomas made sure she didn't fall off.

The time change is hard on my kids.  They all fell asleep on my lap one night at 5:30 p.m.  It was an early morning the next day!

Robbie and Catherine had matching hair waves one day.

One rainy day we saw a few cool rainbows!

Thomas is determined to help with this puzzle.  He's only attached 1 piece I think, but he sure tries hard.  He fell asleep trying one day.
