Our Week

 Tom and Cat made this bed together and wanted a picture of it.  They enjoyed being buried.

Lydia and I went to see the Fantastic Beasts 3 movie.  She loves all things Harry Potter still.

The elementary school hosted a Mother/Son baseball night at Cal State Fullerton.  We did a little tailgating before the game too.  It was so fun to see Thomas hang out with friends from school.

Catherine continues to do well in swim.  She floated on her back a little by herself this week.  She also was able to reach a ring at the bottom of the pool!

Easter Week

 Catherine is back at swim lessons.  She's getting more brave each week.  Her next goal is to be able to dive for rings.

She also had her 5 year old check up and got her first Covid shot!

Brian's new Porsche Taycan came this week!  He's so excited to have a fun car.

For Easter we dyed Easter eggs.  We haven't done this in a while--I don't think any of them remember doing it actually.

 We are so grateful for our Savior and all that we can do because of Him!

One-on-One

Thomas and Lydia had one-on-one time this week.  I was able to go with Thomas on a school field trip to see the Beauty and the Beast performed at a local college.  It was fun to be together and get to know the kids in his class.

Afterwards we ate lunch on the lawn and collected autographs of all the characters.

 

Catherine had time with Brian while I was away.  They went to lunch too.

 

Brian and Lydia attended the Daddy/ Daughter dance at the school later that evening.

They ate dinner, played lawn games, painted, and danced.  He also took her out for frozen yogurt afterwards. 

We love hanging out with our kids!

Recognition

Robbie was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar at his school on Monday.  They honored the top 25 in each class.

He also had his Basketball Banquet.  He's had fun playing with this team and working with his coach this year.

 

Thomas had his last basketball game on Saturday followed by an award ceremony.  He loves to play and can't wait for summer league.

Cousin Time

Shannon and her girls came to visit on Sunday for General Conference.  The kids loved having cousins to play with.

 

In between sessions, we went for a walk to our favorite Hiltscher Nature Park along the trails.

Last week when we were there we picked up some bark to take home and paint.

The girls loved picking out where to place it at the park.

It was a great conference and a great time with family.

Catherine's Birthday

 We've been celebrating Catherine's birthday all week!  She is so happy to be 5 years old!

She still loves Mickey Mouse quite a bit, mostly because of Pluto.

Her stats:

height- 45 in. (90%)

weight- 46.6 lbs (85%)

In January she told me she wants to learn to read so we've been working on the alphabet and sight words.  This past week she picked out an early reader book from the library and was excited to find she could read the whole thing!  She also really loves math.  She found an old math workbook and started filling it out.  She even figured out the double digits adding and subtracting page!

On her birthday, Brian took her to breakfast at Farmer Boys.

After she got home, she opened up Lydia's present.  Last year at Disneyland, Catherine had to chose between 2 Pluto stuffed animals.  She picked the bigger one.  For her birthday, she requested the baby Pluto, but Disney doesn't make it anymore and we couldn't find an unused one.  Lydia overheard us telling Catherine that and decided to sew one for her!  Both girls were super excited;)

After we dropped off the kids at school, Catherine wanted to go to Knott's Berry Farm.

She also picked out a Bavarian eclair at the bakery to eat at home.

After school, she decorated her cupcakes as Pluto.

She requested potato soup for dinner and then it was time for presents.

 

She giggled the whole time we sang happy birthday to her!

She is such a fun and awesome addition to our family!  Love you, Catherine!
