Robbie's Birthday

Robbie is officially 16!!

After school we took him to K-1 for a race.  He had a new personal best!

We also had fudge for his birthday treat!

On Saturday, Brian took Robbie to the Porsche Experience for lunch.

Happy Birthday, Rob! We love you!!

Later that night, our youth went  to the temple! It's so fun seeing my kids participate in baptisms.

Fullerton Walking Field Trip

Thomas's class has been learning Fullerton history this year so they took a walking field trip to see all of the buildings and history they've been talking about.

Train station that brought the Santa Fe railroad to town.

Old Spaghetti Factory which is built in the original train station.

Wally the Trolley that used to run up and down Harbor.

Spaghetti lunch

Oldest building...Amerige Real Estate

We stopped by City Hall and talked with the Mayor.  Kids got to ask him any question they wanted.

Concerts

The elementary school had a day of music concerts for each of the grades.
Catherine's class performed "Let's Make a Garden" and  "Down by the Bay"

Lydia was in band this semester playing the flute.  She performed "Hot Cross Buns" and "Go Tell Aunt Rhody"

Thomas's grade performed "Au Clair de la Lune" and "Frere Jacques"

After school Catherine's class performed their "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" song again.

Beach Field Trip

Catherine's kindergarten class has been learning about ocean creatures. They normally go to the aquarium, but this time they went to the ocean!  We started out learning about the critters in the back country next to the ocean.

We took a little hike for a scavenger hunt.

Then we headed across the street to the ocean.  The kids had been learning a dance to "Hawaiian Roller Coaster" and performed it for us on the beach.

Angels Game

We all went to the Angels game on Monday night against the Red Sox.  We made it through the whole game and the kids were great!  Angels won!

Happenings

We found a raccoon in our backyard this morning!

Thomas ended his flag football season.  He's had a lot of fun playing and learning a new sport.

Our youth went on a spiritual hike for their activity.  Each shared a short spiritual thought at the top of the ridge.  It was such a beautiful night!

Lydia had her annual eye check up this week.  She picked out some new frames since her last ones were kids sized and getting small for her.  I really love her new ones!

End of School Activities

Robbie had his last day of seminary for his sophmore year.  His teacher is being released so we surprised him one morning with a gift basket and thank you cards from the kids.  He's been a dedicated teacher and we will miss him next year.

The younger kids had Open House this week.   Catherine's classroom was an underwater/ocean theme. (that's an octopus tentacle  from the giant octopus hanging from the ceiling in front of them)

Lydia has worked hard all year.  Here she is with Mr. Mominee.

Here she is with her good friend Maddie.

At the school art show.  They each found their artwork.

Thomas's class was last on our rounds.  He has grown so much this year.
