Sometimes, you have to take the time to change your baby's diaper.

Centennial Farms
Robbie's class went on a field trip to Centennial Farms in Costa Mesa the week after Thanksgiving. I was able to go as a chaperone and it was so fun!
Our tour guide was Farmer Ralph. He had 2 of the tallest boys help him walk around since he is getting older and Robbie was one of them. He also gave him his farmer hat to wear for a time. At the chicken coup.
Meeting the oxen, Freckles and Patches, with Teamster Phil. These oxen are 8 years old and weigh about 3000 lbs. each!
Farmer Ralph explaining the milking machine.
Robbie petting a cow.
Robbie planting a radish seed to take home. (Now, it's sprouting!)
Farmer Ralph showing us the fruit salad tree. They don't have room at the farm to have a tree for every fruit, so they made a fruit salad tree by grafting branches of each kind of fruit to one tree!
The kids each got to hold chicks also. I couldn't get a picture of Robbie with his chick because I got to pass all the chicks out.
It was a lot of fun and Robbie even enjoyed his first ride on a school bus.

AR Reading
Robbie's school does the AR Reading Program. You have to know the first 100 First Grade Sight Words, read a book and take a test on your own. Robbie's teacher started him on the program in October. He reads a story every night in his reading level (1.4-2.4), I quiz his comprehension, then he goes to school and takes a test on it the next day. For every book he passes off he gets a point value. He has a goal with his teacher to read so many books by a certain time. If he reaches his goal he receives an award.
This week was the award assembly. Robbie waiting in line to receive his award.
There were 2 kindergarteners to get awards.

Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross
To see a fine lady, on a fine horse
Rings on her fingers
And bells on her toes
She will have music
Wherever she goes.
18 Months
Well, I'm finally posting about Lydi's 18 months on the day she turns 19 months. How's that for on the ball? We just had her well check-up this week. We had to wait until the dr.'s office had the flu shots in because I didn't want to have to come back AGAIN! Anyways....
She's been growing the last 6 months! She's gained about 6 lbs. and 4 inches!
Her stats:
height: 33 1/4 inches (77%)
weight: 35.2 lbs. (50%)
- She still loves her babies. She also loves all animals now, especially dogs.
- She's gotten a little pickier with her food, but she still loves her fruits.
- She likes to be read to. Favorite book: Goodnight Moon. It even goes to the store with us on occasion.
- She's an observer. She will sit and watch something before joining in.
- She likes to jabber. We are noticing though that her gibberish is actually 2-3 word phrases. We just haven't been able to discern them until recently.
- She still takes 2 naps when we have a normal schedule. Although lately it's been mostly 1 nap.
- She's a daddy's girl. She runs, full speed ahead, when he comes home. Every time the phone rings, she hopes it's him:)
- She likes to try on clothes and shoes. When she's wearing a new outfit, she will sway side to side and say, "woo, woo".
- She's trying to jump. Hasn't taken off the ground yet, but she thinks she's going far.

O Christmas Tree
On Sunday after church, we got out our Christmas decorations and put up our tree. I love putting the ornaments on our tree every year. We have many from our childhood and have started our own collection as well. It's fun to look at them every year and remember all the great times we've had.
