Christmas Festivities

Catherine sang in her Kinder Elf Christmas Show.  It was so cute!  They sang Rudolph, Dreaming of a White Christmas, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and All I Want for Christmas.

The next day, they had a gingerbread house making party in her class.

Lydia had a pizza party with an ornament exchange.

Earlier in the week, the 6th grade had a student store.  Students could make things to sell.  All of the 6th graders have a "money" account that they have been earning money for all year.  Kids could use their class money to buy things and pay the store owners for their goods. Lydia could then use that money to buy other student goods or save for class rewards.  Lydia made a good profit off of her ornaments, earrings and bracelets.

Thomas had a cookie decorating party!

Our Week

Thomas attended a birthday party for one of his former basketball teammates.

Robbie played in a game against Irvine on Saturday.  Coach put him in as a starter, which was his first time doing that on the varsity team.

Catherine's class is building this gingerbread house out of cardboard.  Every time I go into the class, they have added more decorations

The three younger kids had their music performances this past week.  It was fun to see all the things their music teacher teaches them through song.

Live Nativity

Our stake had a live nativity this past week.  I was so excited to go and my kids didn't really know what it was about.  We got bundled up, secured some front row seats, and drank hot chocolate. The kids were amazed at how cool it was.

Catherine went to pet every animal afterwards.  She loved them!

Catherine drew this nativity on Sunday...she just learned how to draw a star and was so excited to fill the sky with them!

We will definitely make this an annual tradition.

Sugar Cookies

Lydia made our sugar cookies this year all by herself!!  I was busy all day on Saturday, but she still wanted to make them.  She did an amazing job!  She made them all Harry Potter themed.

Ward Christmas Party

We had a lovely Ward Christmas Party on Saturday.  The Primary sang a song.

Then they asked if anyone wanted to come up and share a talent on the spot.  One little girl in our ward did so and Catherine leaned over to me and said, "I want to go sing Jingle Bells!"  She walked right up there and sang a solo!  None of us knew where that came from, but she did great and the ward was so support of her!

Santa also came to visit and the girls wanted a picture.  Catherine was so sad to see him go at the end.

Our Week

Catherine went on a Nature Walk Field Trip to a place on our trails that she loves.  She loved going there with her class.  They ate a snack and recorded some observations in their notebook.

Lydia had a surprise birthday party for one of her school friends.  They went to an escape room and she had a blast.

Robbie passed his driving permit test!  He had his first lesson with a professional instructor so now he gets to drive me around.  He's very good and the instructor was super complimentary.  He had no idea it was Robbie's first time driving on the street and was blown away when we told him that.

Robbie also played in a few basketball games this week.  Here, he stole the ball and his teammate was able to score from it!
