Soccer

Soccer is going well.  Robbie is loving it and making new friends.

Practice before the game.

Listening to their coach

Robbie makes a fast break.  First of his three goals this game!

Family Visit

Aunt Shannon, Aunt Laura, Alyssa, and Ashley came to see us 2 weeks ago.  Laura was on her way to her parents house with the girls, and Aunt Shannon was able to come with them to see us!
We played at the park since it was such a nice day.

Later in the week we had a photo shoot with Aunt Shannon and the kids.
It was fun to see everyone!  Thanks for coming!

House Update

It's coming along!  Brian had a walk through with the builder this week before they start putting up the dry wall inside.

Kindergarten Registration

I can't believe I'm writing about this.  I'm excited, scared, nervous and proud all at the same time.  He's going to be great.  We went to register him at the Kindergarten Round-up Day that the school had.  I filled out forms and talked to the district and school nurse about his peanut allergy (anaphylactic reaction) while he painted a sign of his name and had an assessment with one of the kindergarten teachers.  I already love the school.  The PTA has some great programs and I plan on being very involved.  I've always dreaded the day he would go to kindergarten for all the same reasons every parent does, but I've had an extra fear with his allergy.  However, after talking with the school officials, I feel calm about it.  I've felt that this is the perfect place for him to be, and I'm getting more excited.  I guess Heavenly Father knows us and what we can handle.  While I know I'll still be a little nervous, I know he can handle it and so can I.  We've been prepared for this, and we can do it!

Star Wars

The Discovery Cube in Orange has had a Star Wars exhibit.  Since Robbie's new love is Star Wars, we decided to check it out today.

Anakin's pod racer. At each station you could listen to a recording with details about he exhibit.  Robbie loved listening to these.

Costumes from the movie--Han Solo and Chewbacca

Yoda

C3-PO and R2D2

One station allowed kids to try out different wheels on an R2D2 robot to see which would get over different terrains better.  Also you could program them on the computer and try to get them to go through an obstacle course.  Robbie loved this part and was quite good at it!

Lydi and I

Darth Vader

They had a hover craft that the kids could drive.  There is a fan on the bottom to lift it off the ground and then another at the back to steer with.

Family Time

On Easter afternoon, we headed to Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jessica's house in Murrietta for a delicious Easter dinner.

Easter

We have had such a great Easter weekend.  It's wonderful to reflect on our Savior's love for us and the amazing gift he has given.

Our Easter Festivities began on Saturday. A lady at the quilt shop told us if you planted jellybeans, suckers grow!  We just had to try it for ourselves.

Robbie then wrote the Easter Bunny a thank you note and left some carrots for him to eat that night just before bed.  Sunday morning came and we had full baskets, an egg hunt, and suckers in our garden!

11 Months

Here's what's going on with Lydi at 11 months:
  • She crawls speedily...and gets faster when she knows that you are after her.
  •  She has 3 teeth now: 1 top and 2 bottom.
  •  She claps her hands now.
  •  Her and Robbie are playing more together.
  •  She loves to crawl up the stairs.  We are working on learning how to come down.
  •  Her favorite table foods are cooked carrots, bread, and strawberries.
  • Robbie likes to go into her room after she awakes in the morning or after a nap to play with her.

Physical Therapy

I just finished up my physical therapy from my surgery.  Each week my therapist would hand me a sheet of exercises (with pictures and words) to do at home that week.  Robbie loved looking at them and trying to figure out what exercises I was supposed to be doing.  He would even join in with me each day.  Since this week was my last appointment, Robbie created a sheet for me...
"tame" is times...as in how many times I need to do that move
I love that there is a place at the bottom to pay him for his services.

Flower Fields

This week I took the kids to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad.  It was so beautiful!  I love flowers and they had some gorgeous ones!

I love that the wagon says, "whistle a happy tune".
