BYU played in the Hall of Fame basketball series on Monday in Las Vegas. Since the kids had the day off school we decided to make a trip out of it!
We stopped in Barstow on the way out of town for dinner at Raising Cane's. Brian had never been before so we tried it out.
Gorgeous sunset on our drive
We made it to Vegas in good time. We stayed at the W and after checking in, we went to check out some of my favorite tourist-y places at night.
We headed to Bellagio to see the gardens.
It was an autumn forest theme this time.
Then we went out front to see the fountains. The kids were surprised to see how huge they were! It was just as fun as I remembered it.
On the right you can see a structure going up for the F1 race coming up in a few weeks in Vegas.
On Monday we stopped a few fun places. Vegas always has great photo areas.
We also had brunch at the Garden Court at Main Street Station. My favorite Vegas buffet.
Afterwards we walked along the strip to see the shops and sites. We noticed Vegas now has an ABC Store, which we have only seen in Hawaii. It's a fun stop for souvenirs.
We stopped at the Coca-Cola store to try out the drinks from around the world. Our favorites were the fruity flavors. There were so many BYU fans here.
Then we headed over to the M&M store.
and then on to the Hershey's Chocolate World.
At 3 pm we made our way over to the Hall of Fame basketball series. The first game was Florida vs. Arizona. It was a close game, and Arizona ended up winning.
Then it was time for the BYU vs Villanova game!
Keta gave us some great dunks!
Richie Saunders had great shots.
and our new player AJ Dybantsa did not disappoint!
BYU ended up winning and we had such a fun time!
Lydia had things at school that she couldn't miss so we ended up driving through the night to make it home. We had a few hours of sleep in bed before we were up and going again. It was fun to get away for a little bit though!
