Nixon Presidential Library

On Saturday afternoon we visited the Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda.  They had a 250th anniversary of America exhibit that was neat.

In the Watergate section, we saw this video of an interview with Pres. Christofferson.  He was the law clerk to the judge overseeing the trial at the time.

Summer Fun

Lydia finished summer school this week with an A in her Geometry H class!  She went straight up to Big Bear for Girls Camp afterwards.

She always has fun at girls camp.

Meanwhile- I took Tom and Cat to Soak City again.

Thomas got his braces on the top this week.

Tom and Cat had their last day of running club for the summer.  They gave out mileage awards.  Catherine has run 60+ miles this year so far over 2 sessions.  Thomas ran 27 miles just this summer session.  I'm so proud of them!

On Saturday morning Brian took Lydia and Thomas to the temple for our family temple trip.

4th of July

This year for Independence Day we started out at the ward patriotic breakfast.  Tom helped raise the flag and we had a delicious pancake breakfast.

Then we headed down to the San Diego Temple open house.  The kids were amazed at how much bigger it is from the temples we have by us.  It was special to see the temple as a family again.

Beach

I took Tom and Cat to Seal Beach this week.  It was a beautiful day!  We spent about 3 hours hanging out and playing in the waves.  We also got our favorite Sweet Jill's cinnamon rolls.

Butterflies & Trolls

The South Coast Botanical Gardens has a temporary butterfly house.  The younger two wanted to see it so we went today.

We each got a nectar lollipop and were able to attract quite a few butterflies!

Our favorite was this glass-wing butterfly.  None of us could entice it to come to our nectar, but I still got a picture.

There was also an Emergence Station.  We got to see a Malachite emerge!

All the cocoons were different sizes and so interesting to see!

Afterwards we visited the trolls again.  It was a beautiful morning to be out for a walk!

Dates

Brian had a date with Lydia this week.  They went to an escape room and out to dinner.  This escape room was a music theme.

Catherine and I went to see the play Anastasia.  We both loved it!  We had lunch at a pizza place by the theater before the play.

Afterwards we went for a frosty.

Just as our play was ending, Brian took Lydia and Thomas to the temple for the youth temple trip this month.
